Smartphone Use Level of Nursing College Students the Relationship between Communication Competence, Social Avoidance and Distress

    Abstract

    This study is the smartphone use level of the nursing college students and the differences of their general characteristics as well as the relationship of their communication competence and social avoidance and distress. Methods: Data collection was done, in order to examine students nursing department of C College in D district from September 23rd to 27th in 2013 and their questionnaires were analyzed as 185 case finally. The data were analyzed by frequency and Pearson Correlation Coefficient of the SPSS WIN 20.0 program. Results: Though the smartphone use level of nursing college students was higher than the other college students on average but their addiction rate was low. And their communication competence and social avoidance•distress were similar with of college student. Since It was found that smartphone use level was negative correlated with social distress and communication competence was negative correlated with social avoidance and social distress. We were identified negative relation with Communication competence and social avoidance and social distress. Conclusion: We should be interested in positive smartphone use of nursing students. Herefore it will be helpful to development. It will be helpful to develop preventive program for the Nursing college students through this study.
